God’s Love is the Greatest Gift to Share this Holiday Season

We are in a Season of Love and Faith to Unite with God Against All Odds with Feasts of Dedication.

Hanukkah, also known as the Festival of Dedication and the Festival of Lights, commemorates the rededication of the Jewish second Temple in Jerusalem, the Hasmoneans (Maccabee Family) revolt, and the traditional belief of a single-day supply of oil that lasted eight full days during that dedication.

It is also a celebration of a Jewish victory over a tyrant king of the Seleucid Empire and the skewed religious people trying to impose an ideology that wasn’t holy.

The Story of Jesus being born in a stable in the small town of Bethlehem is a story of Christmas in the Bible that should continue to bring us hope to this day. The story of Jesus is still happening around us daily. It is the story of a fulfilled promise from God to his people. It is the story of a child made by God who had come to bring a new era of salvation. This is a story of God’s love for us.

A shoot will come up from the stump of Jesse; from his roots a Branch will bear fruit. Isaiah 11:1 (NIV)

“Glory to God in the highest heaven, and on earth peace to those on whom his favor rests.” Luke 2:14 (NIV)

The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us. We have seen his glory, the glory of the one and only Son, who came from the Father, full of grace and truth. John 1:14 (NIV)

Let’s grow our faith and love for God more this Holiday and Christmas Season.  In a new study on Prayers, I was reading words penned by Germaine Copeland in her book Prayers that Avail Much. One of the notes in the introduction of her book that spoke to me was on Effectual prayer.  She writes how effectual prayer begins with adoration from a believing heart in awe of the majesty of God. Prayer does not cause faith to work, but faith causes prayer to work. Always remember, faith works by love-and therefore, prayers must be prayed from a place of love.

God, glorify your name! Yes, your name alone be glorified, not ours. For you are the one who loves us passionately, and you are faithful and true. Psalm 115:1 (TPT)

Plant Bible Verses in Your Heart this Holiday Season to Fill Your Soul

But the faith-righteousness we receive speaks to us in these words of Moses:

“God’s living message is very close to you, as close as your own heart beating in your chest and as near as the tongue in your mouth.” Romans 10:8 (TPT)

For the Scriptures encourage us with these words:

“Everyone who believes in him will never be disappointed.” Romans 10:11 (TPT)

God, glorify your name! Yes, your name alone be glorified, not ours. For you are the one who loves us passionately, and you are faithful and true. Psalm 115:1 (TPT)

Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God, the Lord is one. Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength. Deuteronomy 6:4-5 (NIV)

God, our God! God the one and only!
Love God, your God, with your whole heart: love him with all that’s in you, love him with all you’ve got!  Deuteronomy 6:4-5 (The Message)

Be vigilant in keeping the Commandment and The Revelation that Moses the servant of God laid on you: Love God, your God, walk in all his ways, do what he’s commanded, embrace him, serve him with everything you are and have.” Exodus 22:4-5 (The Message)

But be very careful to keep the commandment and the law that Moses the servant of the Lord gave you: to love the Lord your God, to walk in obedience to him, to keep his commands, to hold fast to him and to serve him with all your heart and with all your soul.”  Exodus 22: 5 (NIV)

Let me hear of your unfailing love each morning, for I am trusting you. Show me where to walk, for I give myself to you. Psalm 143:8 (NIV)

And so we know and rely on the love God has for us. God is love. Whoever lives in love lives in God, and God in him. 1 John 4:16 (NIV)

The LORD your God is with you, he is mighty to save. He will take great delight in you, he will quiet you with his love, he will rejoice over you with singing."  Zephaniah 3:17 (NIV)

We love because he first loved us.  1 John 4:19 (NIV)

You see, every child of God overcomes[a] the world, for our faith is the victorious power that triumphs over the world. So who are the world conquerors, defeating its power? Those who believe that Jesus is the Son of God. 1 John 5:4-5 (TPT)

“I love each of you with the same love that the Father loves me. You must continually let my love nourish your hearts. If you keep my commands, you will live in my love, just as I have kept my Father’s commands, for I continually live nourished and empowered by his love. My purpose for telling you these things is so that the joy that I experience will fill your hearts with overflowing gladness! John 15:9-11 (TPT)

So we are convinced that every detail of our lives is continually woven together for good, for we are his lovers who have been called to fulfill his designed purpose.  Romans 8:28 (TPT)

Yet even in the midst of all these things, we triumph over them all, for God has made us to be more than conquerors, and his demonstrated love is our glorious victory over everything! Romans 8:37 (TPT)

Now may God, the fountain of hope, fill you to overflowing with uncontainable joy and perfect peace as you trust in him. And may the power of the Holy Spirit continually surround your life with his super-abundance until you radiate with hope! Romans 15:13 (TPT)

May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit. Romans 15:13 (NIV)

The way you counsel me makes me praise you more,
for your whispers in the night give me wisdom,
showing me what to do next.
Because I set you, Yahweh, always close to me,
my confidence will never be weakened,
for I experience your wraparound presence every moment.
My heart and soul explode with joy—full of glory!
Even my body will rest confident and secure. Psalm 16:7-9 (TPT)
