Spring is here. The garden has begun to awaken with new life, sprouting buds, fresh green leaves, fruit and the oh-so-heavenly scent of blooming flowers.

I awaken with gratitude to our Heavenly Father for the gift of this season. It is a reminder to one’s soul that there is everlasting hope. 

In a recent fellowship with my long-time friend, Sue (an amazing prayer partner with a heart full of love who has offered endless encouragement throughout the years), I shared how the word “hope” had been on my heart for the last couple of weeks. 

As we continued in our conversation, I found myself reflecting upon one of the many treasured life lessons of wisdom that my mentor, Xzandrya, gifted to me. She would say in her parable way of sharing a life lesson, “Picture the word as you spell it; see the big opening ‘O’ in the middle of it.  For some this opening is an empty feeling or expression as though to throw a desire or dream to the open wind.  And for others with a biblical perspective, it is an opening to stand with confidence in front of the endless opportunities that lay ahead, promised by our Heavenly Father.”

Sue and I noted that the word “hope” in the New Testament is the Greek “elpis”or “elpizo”, meaning a confident expectation or assurance based upon a sure foundation for which we wait with joy. In other words, “There is no doubt about it.”

We talked about how “God’s Hope” is woven throughout the bible teaching us, or maybe I should say reminding us how He has, is and will always be with us and blessing us with his promises if we choose to Trust in him for all things.  

Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight.

As we took our last sip of tea, the chimes of the cuckoo clock in the background let us know that our fellowship visiting time had come to a close.  We both took a deep breath and said in unison (and almost in song), “What a wonderful time it is to welcome in the Spring Season with Passover and Easter around the corner. One’s soul is refreshed and refilled with God’s promises of everlasting hope for all of His people.”

Saying our goodbyes, we both shared how we could feel God’s love wrapped around us, His confidence giving us the courage to walk forward in another day filled with hope and joy.

“For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.”

Let’s fill our days with biblical hope, reinforcing the foundation upon which we live our lives with the belief that God always keeps His promises.

How to Live a Life of Hope to Create Joy through All Seasons

Take Time to Read and Meditate on the Word of God. 
Let God renew your strength with hope today and tomorrow.

… those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength.
They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary,
they will walk and not be faint.

Drink the Living Water of God’s Word to refresh your soul with Hope knowing that God’s everlasting hope will fill you.

With triumphant joy you will drink deeply from the wells of salvation.

Believe in God with the confidence of hope.  Expect the unexpected breakthrough from God.  He hears the desires of our hearts. Believe and know as we pray He will show us our way for his purposes. 

This is why I wait upon you, expecting your breakthrough, for your Word brings me hope. Psalms 130:5 (TPT)

Now faith brings our hopes into reality and becomes the foundation needed to acquire the things we long for. It is all the evidence required to prove what is still unseen.
